Yeast-Free Naan Bread

How do you make homemade yeast-free naan bread?
Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl, then add yogurt until a smooth dough forms. Let it rest for 30 minutes, divide it into portions, and roll them out with a rolling pin. Cook each bread in a hot skillet with a little oil for 3–4 minutes per side, until they puff up and brown lightly.
An exquisite bread, super easy to make, and best of all, in about 35 minutes we can enjoy fresh, warm little breads. Its origin is Indian; the only difference is that we do not use traditional yeast, but baking soda, so it turns out even lighter and easier to digest. Sometimes we crave a piece of fresh bread but give up on the idea because it requires many hours between preparation, rising, and baking. This recipe is the solution for enjoying it whenever we have that craving and do not have much time available.

Servings: Makes 12–16 small breads
Ingredients
- 450 g type 00 wheat flour, whole wheat flour, or whole spelt flour
- 2.5 g baking soda
- 7 g salt
- 375 g soy or dairy yogurt

Instructions
Start by sifting the flour into a large bowl.

Add the salt.

Stir well to combine all the dry ingredients.

Add the yogurt.

Mix well.

Form a smooth dough. Cover it and let it rest for about thirty minutes.

Take the dough and place it on a floured surface, stretch it out, and form a sort of rectangle.

Begin cutting it into more or less equal pieces.

When you finish cutting, you will have 15 to 20 pieces, depending on the size you prefer.

Take the cut pieces one by one, place them on a floured surface, and shape each one into a small ball.

Roll each one out with a rolling pin.

Place a little oil in a large nonstick pan and heat it. Lower the temperature to medium-low.

Start placing each of the breads in the pan. Cook for about 3–4 minutes.

When you see large bubbles begin to appear, flip them.

Repeat until all the breads are cooked. Enjoy them with whatever you like best, whether sweet or savory. Note: They can also be baked for 12 minutes at 200°C (395°F).
Enjoy your meal!
