Hummus

How do you make homemade chickpea hummus?
Blend cooked chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, paprika, and salt in a food processor. Gradually add olive oil and water while blending until you reach the desired creaminess. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes to bring the flavors together, then serve decorated with sesame seeds and paprika.
Hummus is a delicious chickpea spread typical of Middle Eastern cuisine. It is extremely versatile, and there are so many versions. The one I am sharing today is my favorite: easy, tasty, and delicate. We use it to accompany bread, crackers, falafel; in short, it is simply delicious with anything.

Servings: For 6-8 people
Ingredients
- 240 g cooked chickpeas (canned or jarred are perfect)
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons sesame seed cream (tahini sauce)
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
- Juice of 1 organic lemon
- Sesame seeds for decorating

Instructions
Place all the ingredients in a food processor or mixer, start blending, and add about 2 or 3 tablespoons of oil and about 2 tablespoons of water.

Continue blending, turning it off from time to time so the cream does not overheat, until you reach the consistency you like best. You can add one more tablespoon of oil or water if necessary. Let it rest for about 30 minutes so the flavors blend. Serve and decorate with sesame seeds and a little sweet paprika. Enjoy it with delicious naan bread, pita bread, or your favorite accompaniment.
Enjoy your meal!
