Tofu Marinated in Sweet and Sour Sweet Pepper Sauce

How do you marinate and cook tofu in sweet and sour sauce?
Cut the tofu into slices and layer it with sweet pepper sauce. Let it marinate for 3-4 hours, turning the pieces so they absorb the sauce well. Cook the drained slices on a hot grill for two minutes on each side, until lightly caramelized.
Tofu always surprises us: since it is neutral in flavor, we can coat and marinate it in our favorite sauces and it will always be delicious. For this recipe to be a success, we need to let the tofu marinate for several hours so it absorbs the flavor. For example, with the sauce already prepared beforehand, I put it to marinate early in the morning, turned it at lunchtime, and we ate it for dinner.

Ingredients
- 750 g plain tofu
- Prepared Sweet and Sour Sweet Pepper Sauce

Instructions
Cut the tofu into rectangular slices about ½ cm thick.

In a high-sided rectangular container or a square one, spread a base layer of sauce and place a layer of tofu slices on top.

Add another layer of sauce and continue like this until all the tofu slices and sauce are used.

Let marinate for 3-4 hours, then turn all the slices so they soak up the sauce well.

After another 3-4 hours, or when you are ready to enjoy it, remove the tofu slices one by one and place them on a very hot grill for a couple of minutes.

Turn each slice and cook for another two minutes.

Repeat the process until all the tofu slices are cooked. You can enjoy it warm or cold; it is delicious both ways. You can warm a little sauce if desired.
Enjoy your meal!
